For anyone reading this who is just starting, it can be done! When I started, I weighed over 300lbs and had many instances of dieting, losing weight, and finally back sliding. I finally set out to achieve my goal of weighing what I did at my lightest when I was 19. Keto helped me do that by letting me not feel constantly hungry or sluggish when eating at a caloric deficit.
I do think I have further to go, so after today I'll set a new goal of 194, putting my BMI at normal.
I don't usually like sharing pictures of myself, but I thought I'd share these. The before is from last December, and the after is just a quick picture I snapped in an elevator without the intention of sharing it online. I haven't had a chance to take a proper "after" picture, but was excited to finally post my progress, so this will have to do for now.

    I did this diet and it resulted in weight gain, mostly fat in my mid section. I am still sufferingthe results of gong keto. It totally, totally sucks. I rue the day I read about, got excited, and did this diet. and no I was not eating bad fats, like whipped cream etc I had avocados, walnuts, etc. bah humbug.

      It’s always possible that any particular diet won’t work for some people, but just out of curiosity what did your diet look like? What sort of foods were you eating? And more to the point, how often were you eating?
      When it comes to weight loss, approaches like Keto tend to help because they lower insulin levels. However, if you’re eating 3 + meals a day and snacking and your diet is quite high in protein (above the 30% range of your daily intake), then your likely still spiking your insulin and that will lead to weight gain.
      Realistically, Keto works best with an intermittent fasting approach where you only eat in say an 8 hour window each day. Also, if you’re working out it’s a good idea to time those workouts to occur before your first meal of the day too.
